The members of the SMDC Lab currently include five professors and researchers, one PhD student, two research assistants and several students.
Paolo Coppola
Paolo Coppola is an associate professor of Computer Science at the University of Udine. He is the head of the Context-Aware Mobile System lab and he has been a co-founder of MoBe. His research interests range from context-aware mobile systems to
implementation of functional languages. He has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Udine.

Vincenzo Della Mea
Vincenzo Della Mea is associate professor of Medical Informatics at the University of Udine, and scientific chair of the Master in Medical Informatics. He is national delegate in the COST “Eurotelepath” action, and serves also on the WHO International Classifications network, which is working on biomedical
classifications and ontologies. His research interests include also context-aware mobile systems and web technologies.

Stefano Mizzaro
Stefano Mizzaro is an associate professor of Computer Science at the University of Udine. He is the head of the Context-Aware Mobile System laboratory and co-founder of MoBe spinoff.
His research interests include context-aware mobile systems, information retrieval and search engines, and electronic scholarly publishing. He has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Trieste.
Giuseppe Serra
Giuseppe Serra is an Assistant Professor at the University of Udine.
His research interests include Machine Learning, Wearable Computing, Natural Language Processing, Image and Video analysis. He has a PhD in Computer Engineering, Multimedia and Telecommunications from the University of Florence.
Ivan Scagnetto
Ivan Scagnetto is an assistant professor of Computer Science at the University of Udine and co-founder of MoBe spinoff.
His research interests range from context-aware mobile systems to computer aided formal reasoning. He has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Udine.
