Bio:<\/strong> Luca is an associate professor of Information Technology (Sistemi di Elaborazione delle Informazioni, ING-INF\/05) at the University of Udine since 2005. He is a member of the Scheduling and Timetabling research group, focusing on the study and application of meta-heuristic techniques to real combinatorial optimization problems in the domains of Scheduling, Timetabling, and Computational Logistics. His primary research interest lies in enhancing meta-heuristic techniques through hybridization with other optimization methods, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence, such as Constraint Programming and Reinforcement Learning. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Information Sciences (1998), Master’s degree in Computer Science (2003), and Ph.D. in Computer Science (2002) from the University of Udine, where he also worked as a Research Fellow (2003-2004) and Researcher (2005-2016). During his Ph.D., he was a visiting student at the Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In 2011, he was a Visiting Professor at Technische Universit\u00e4t Wien, Austria. In December 2017, he received habilitation as a full professor in the fields of Information Processing Systems (ING-INF\/05) and Computer Science (INF\/01). He is the author or co-author of over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles published in journals, books, and international conference proceedings. Some bibliometric indicators of his research activity include 2746 citations, h-index 28, g-index 51, and citations per article 26.92 (as of February 2020). His impact on research in the years 2004-2008, measured by an evaluation agency with various metrics, places him in the top 10%-25% of professors and researchers in his scientific field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
